When traveling, its so hard to keep to your diet and health plan, so make it easier on yourself by packing healthy snacks! I recently discovered Isagenix snack bars and shakes because they are made with organic ingredients like organic whey protein from grass fed cows! This helps me on the road for work as well as personal travel so I wanted to share with my readers!!
For more info about this stuff email me and now you can also go to a site i created: kathrynmartone.isagenix.com.

Cobblestones and Heels
Once again its that crazy time of year when you are deciding where to spend the holidays.. And if its worth the hassle of air travel to spend it with distant family. If you are traveling alone that is one thing, but if you are making a long trek with multiple people, including children, that is a whole other ball game.
Unfortunately, most people can not afford to charter a private jet, so they get online, look for the cheapest flights, hotels, etc and begin making their plans. Last year I posted some helpful hints about stress free traveling, but now there are even more ways to take away some of the tediousness and hassle out of flying commercial, especially during this crazy season..
1. TSA pre-screening
What is one of the biggest things that hold you up at the airport?? yup, its security lines…
– quoted from TSA website: “If TSA determines a passenger is eligible for expedited screening, information is embedded in the barcode of the passenger’s boarding pass. TSA reads the barcode at designated checkpoints and the passenger may be referred to a lane where they will undergo expedited screening, which could include no longer removing the following items”:
3-1-1 compliant bag from carry-on
Laptop from bag
check out this sight for more detailed information:
I know I have said this in the past, but I will re-state- If you can avoid checking bags this time of year, please do.. use a carry-on roller and consolidate your belongings when traveling with others. There are so many delays and cancellations this time of year so the chances of lost luggage is statistically higher! Also, make sure you have the clear plastic bags for your cosmetics, etc or you will never see your expensive beauty creams again! This was a hard lesson for me to learn 😦
In today’s “app” world, there are so many short cuts to getting information, making travel arrangements, etc. I mean really, i feel like my iPhone can do anything but feed my dog nowadays!
my new favorite travel apps are:
Gateguru– Before you deplane from your first flight, get the lay of the airport land with this cool app. find out where the services, restaurants, etc are in each gate!
Marriott– has a great new app for express booking.
Hopstop– find out the best train or bus route! Its currently available for 16 cities, states and regions in the US and Europe.
Skpe– If you’re traveling outside the US but don’t want to return home to a crazy big cell-phone bill!!
Yelp– to help you find the closest restaurants, stores, gas stations, etc anywhere you are!
Tripit– you can Forward confirmation emails from airlines, hotels, bus companies and more to TripIt, the app will instantly organize it all into a single trip itinerary that you can view on your phone!
There are also many apps for phones and ipads that can keep your children busy for hours! ( just don’t forget to charge your technology before the trip!).
Travel with a few different forms of money. i suggest 2 credit cards, some cash ( and local currency if you are out of the country). spread it out in different places as well so if your wallet or purse is stolen, you are not SOL! and have copies of your IDS!!
Do not get stuck buying expensive food from airports or on the plane. Eat a larger meal before heading to the airport and bring some healthy snacks. ( trail mix, fruit, protein/ fruit bars, etc).
